Blimey, I'm worth more than Villa paid for Ashley Young!

Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening to you all, and welcome to the first of a series of slightly different blogs, but more of that later. For the time being, though, on with the post!

Last week was mainly spent dragging myself through what work we did have in, and thankfully we have had a bit more in over the last week or so, which is good as it makes the days go just that bit quicker, and thats is never a bad thing when you are counting the theoretical days until another half decent position comes up in the firm.
Annoyingly the new train operator, London Midland (guess where their trains run?) have announced that they are closing the lines south of Birmingham in a few weeks time, so the commuter-types will have to get 'special' buses (which can't be as bad as it sounds, surely!), so thats all the fun of the fair to come next month.
The highlight of the week came on the weekend, as not only did I have a day off on friday, but we sent off all our insurance details and next of kin bits and bobs to Ocean Village, which is the last thing we need to do before we get the flight tickets in a few weeks, which is another big step towards the big hol. Reading through all the bumph (technical word, look it up) they send to you from the insurance company, if the boat blows up, or I get abducted by some rabid natives and chopped up into little bits, my death benefit is £10m, which is great when you don't think about it, because when you are looking round for insurance deals, and you have to choose between a £2m and £10 plan, why should you give a rats ass? After all, its not like you are gonna spend any of the money after you've kicked the bucket. So, if by some hideous miracle, we are all wiped out on the holiday, our cousin will be £30m to the richer, which is nice for her!!
Onto happier things and a change in the usual tedious blog entry. Every week, from now until I leave for sunnier pastures, I shall be guiding you through all the islands that I will be hopping onto, in a little feature I like to call 'Are you Jealous yet?'
So, first things first, sit back and relax at the beautiful island of Tortola:

..look, it even says 'Paradise' on the blummin photo!

Now, I admit that throughout my little foray into the Caribbean from these pages, the views may seem a little similar, after all, see one drop dead gorgeous sight, seen them all eh? Well actually no, because I was gonna show you lots and lots of lovely photos of the beauty of the island, until I googled 'Tortola' and found this little gem, entitled 'Photo of Tortola Shoe Sale':

Wow, I hope they've got duty free!
..and for those of you with an eye for history, and the odd swashbuckle through time, take a peek at the history of the island here, where you will discover why the Virgin Islands were called the Virgin Islands, and where an infamous pirate first hid his treasure.
So until next time, I bid you landlubbers a grand farewell.
