Monday

Today was my ultra-relaxing day i.e the day that I had put aside to try and do absolutely nothing in.....and, as I can't stay still without thinking about something that needs to be done that second, it was a fairly busy day!

I managed to roll out of bed and into an upright state just after 10, checked the post and then started a debate in my head as to why Sky News seems to have time-travelled 10 years for its 'new' on-screen graphics, making it look almost, dare I say it, BBC News 24-ish! After about 20 minutes I decided that they were Sky and they could do anything they liked (Virgin Media watch out!), so I moved on with my day, which consisted of looking for decent travel insurance, then wondering what exactly the difference is between a policy paying out £10m and a policy paying out £2m, and whether it was actually worth paying about 50 quid more for the pleasure of knowing that, when you are in a coma on holiday (and therefore don't care!), at odds of a squillion to one, that you'll have the best bottled water at your bedside!

.....I'm thinking theres more to it than that, but I couldn't find anything that told me exactly what. All this is in aid of our 'holiday of a lifetime' this year. My Aunt, who we normally go on holiday with as she's the most organised one out of all of us by a country mile (seriously, we could just throw half the wardrobe in a suitcase and get a cab, but she prepares 6 months in advance at the least, which is nice because we don't have to think about anything, sorted)

Anyway, she is a schoolteacher at a Junior & Infant school in Small Heath (spot the white kid!), and she is retiring at the end of this academic year, so she has decided that, before she descends into 12 hour sessions of watching Gardening makeovers and cookery shows (she does this already but if you're retired, I think its a decent excuse!), she wants to treat us all to a massive holiday, somewhere big that we might not get the chance to go to ever again, unless the lottery will finally let us fix just one draw. So, back in November we decided to grab as many Faraway Shores brochures and start looking through them. Easy, you think. Well, this is where we are 'definitely' going to, from November to this week:

USA (any state, just pick one with a beach and slightly less terrorism threat, as told by the Daily Mail *sigh*), Australia (big spiders and snakes i.e my phobia and Mom's phobia), New Zealand (not much to do, like a big Wales with sunshine), Fiji (too much rainforest, see phobia's above), Sydney (Great city, but flight is too long and terrorists might hit the bigger cities, as told by Daily Mail *sigh*)...

.....can you see a pattern yet?.....

...Canada (too many people talking French, probably), South America (see phobia's), Bermuda (Triangle), China (don't trust, Human Rights 'issues', as told by Daily Mail *sigh*), Japan (Nuclear weapons, don't trust, as told by the Daily Mail *sigh*), Thailand (might as well be Japan, according to...yep you've guessed it!), Florida (too many Americans, Disney Land, Fat People, Terrorism, Fat People etc)

Eventually we decided to have a look at Cruises around the Caribbean, and we set our hearts on an Ocean Village 2 week cruise that takes in every island at least once during the 14 days at sea, which sounds perfect, and is, but when we went to book it yesterday, the November dates have all booked out, so we're going to go for it in March of next year, which will be nice as we can go on a City Break in November, although the excuses for not going to any European of Transatlantic city will be as long as my arm!

The rest of the day was spent playing Football Manager 2005 on my PC. Yes I know they've brought out a new one for this year but I need to conquer this one by winning everything, cheating as and when I need to i.e most of the time! I also know I've got to start my course this week for my exam in October, so I've got to get the game to a point wher I won't mind not going back to it for 6 months, easier said than done, but i've done it before.

This made me laugh out loud today its a song by a man that can only be described as a modern day Noel Coward, because lets face it, we've all got a bit of a dalek in us:
