T-minus 17 days....

Welcome to a flu-ridden blog. Yes I have contracted the fatal beagle-flu (beagle-flu being worse than mere man-flu!), so this blog will be a slightly shorter affair, as I can't remember my own name, yet alone what I did in the last week!

However I shall plough on for your amusement, coz I'm just nice like that!

Well the weekend saw us going to our cousins wedding in Sutton Coldfield, which was really good as its always nice to see the family, and it also gave me a chance to put to the test a theory of mine. You know the old addage that you can't mix grape and hop (wine and beer for those of you who are unaware and always seem to get drunk before anyone else on a nightout!). Well my theory was proven correct, that you can mix grape, hop and apple (wine, beer and cider!). Brilliant!

The wedding also gave me the chance to try out my new videocamera, which I was fairly pleased with, although I did forget to turn it off at one point and drained half the battery, leaving me 29 minutes of power before the camera died. But I did get some good footage, and its better to get all the little problems out of the way now, rather than when we're on holiday.

This week also saw the trains up and running again, although signalling problems at moor street station meant that snow hill looked like the USSR in the cold war, with trains banking up on every platform, and everyone being sent to different platforms within seconds of the train coming in. Oh what fun we had!

As my head now seems like fungus the bogeyman has slapped me several times, I shall finish off with another 2 destinations for your delectation, which by the way, because of my impending flu-related death, meant that I had a really odd, weird dream about the cruise last night, which involved us trying to wade through grotesquely fat Americans (Not their normal fat, but cartoony fat!) trying to get to the buffet, in order for us to get to our rooms, which was more than odd. Anyway, on with the good stuff!

#7 Isla Margarita

Just 25 miles from the Venezuelan coast, the island was discovered in 1498 (by good old chris columbus, as most of the islands were) and translates as the 'Island of Pearls', due to its numerous oyster beds, so I guess I'll be buying a few pearls (god bless US Dollars!).

Right, enough of the history, on with the purdy photo!

And for those of you looking for a Caribbean getaway this year, or even if you want to buy a holiday villa that you can just fly to any time you like, why don't you try this 'unique' property on the island.

Now, I admit, this place could do with a lick of paint, plus a few bits and bobs of decoration, but I'm sure the chap in the picture will let you have it for a very reasonable price!

#8 Grenada

This is known as the 'Spice Island', as, apparently all you can smell around the island is Vanilla, Cinnamon and Nutmeg growing, which may be where it got its name from! On with the photo's:

And now on Animal Corner, the Grenada Dove

Or as I like to call it, a Suntanned Pigeon!
TTFN!
