'Thats not six inches.....is it?'
Good day to thee, fellow bloggers, as you can see I have reverted back to my 'post when I can be bothered to' theme, so here I am again, and what another strange week or so its been.
I am fully mentally recovered from my ordeal of the previous week, in that the flashbacks are becoming less frequent, however my attentions have been turned to work for the last few days, and not in a good way.
The office where I work is an odd one. The people in it rarely talk to one another, and when they do it usually bubbles to the surface in an argument, or a bitch about someone else in the office. This is all usual behaviour for a less-than-average office, however as the powers-that-be are as incompetent as Steve McLaren is at the moment, certain things are beyond their control, or to put no finer point on it....actively encouraged. You see, at times, especially when the mood..or boredom.. takes them, some members of staff take it upon themselves to form little back-biting groups and attack, sometimes quietly, other times actively, other members of staff in the office. This fits in nicely with management as it, albeit briefly, stops everyone from moaning about management, therefore nothing is ever done, which is why the college has more than double the average turnover of staff in the midlands.
The latest offering occured this week, involving someone who has an obvious vendetta against the woman that 'took' her job, clearly forgetting the fact that she had it in the palm of her hand until she had a bit of a nervous breakdown and ballsed it all up! But obviously thats not her fault, but the poor woman that was given her job when she was on a 6 month 'Gardening Leave' (by the way, 'Gardening Leave' in winter, discuss...) has to bear the brunt of it at every opportunity, merely for the fact that she did a much better job of it when she was given the chance.
I shall spare you the details, as they sent me back on the Kalm tablets faster than a greasy whippet down a water slide, suffice to say that the incident itself was extremely petty and showed the offending person in question just how pathetic she can be!
......Ooh that felt better, now thats why I've got a blog!
Other news this week and I have a date for my operation, the 22nd February, and the place for this wonderful event.......Kidderminster! Yes, the town more famous for carpet manufacturing is gonna repair my bits! Marvellous...and I have to travel 25 miles for the priviledge too! But its got to be done and if its anything like booking the damn appointment, I'm glad I'm gonna be knocked out for it. Speaking to a doctors secretary is a less than pleasant experience than many, as you know for a fact that she knows everything that the doctor has written down about you, and therefore, as in my case, when I call up, the tone in her voice changes from normal secretary, to concerned bystander, although if I looked at my notes, I would probably be as worried as she was! Anyway thats all booked, the good news being I get to have a week and a bit off work, the bad news being that I will need the week and a bit off to recover, as, according to the consultant, it will take a while to recover....nice!
But still, could be worse, it could be snowing.....and is, woohoo! We, like most people round the country, had a big fall of snow overnight, and, as we are vastly unprepared and governed by health and safety, if one snowflake falls on our roads, schools, offices, airports, towns and villages are cut off, closed down and abandoned! I'll post some photos on here in the next couple of days, but my camera is downstairs and I'm too tired to get it now, suffice to say I've been shovelling for most of the afternoon. Real proper man work, is that!
Anyway thats enough of an update from me, it should keep you quiet for a while at least.
Happy snow-angel building!
