Public Transport? Its the future, I've been on it!

Less than 5 weeks to go, woohoooooooo!!

Welcome to yet another enthralling blog from yours truly, this time with a double treat in store for you at the end, but more of that shortly. Firstly, on with the blog.

The remainder of last week was just as fun as the first few days, only with a few differences, one of which being that on Thursday, Gareth got a quiz off t'internet about cartoons, which we all had a go at, and felt very, very old for afterwards (thanks Gaz!). For some reason, I woke up on friday with a searing pain in my shoulder. Not sure if I had lay on it awkwardly in the night or what, but it did hurt all day, so I decided to work my lunch and leave an hour early, just in time to catch the snow! Now, I'm not sure if anyone else has had this experience before, but on Friday I experienced, wait for it......

.....Pink Snow!

T'is true , the snow was so heavy at about half 4 that the street lights in brum had turned the snow a sort of pinky, orange colour, which was slightly trippy and fairly amazing! Unfortunately the snow didn't stick, so I couldn't make my legendary snow-rabbit in the garden! :o(

The weekend was, yet again, spent sorting various bits'n'bobs out for the holiday, and having discovered that I actually have far too many clothes to take with me, I am pretty much ready for the cruise. I could do with a straw hat though, dunno why, I've just always fancied a straw hat, slightly rough round the edges (bit like me!) to take on my hols, but I could always get a genuine one whilst i'm there I suppose!

The weekend saw us popping over to Sutton Coldfield to find where we need to for a wedding we are off to next week, which was about as exciting as the weekend got, as Villa decided to have yet another shambles of a showing away to fulham, who deservedly ran out 2.1 winners.

Now, I don't know if you have ever had this before, but recently I've been getting something I like to call, Myspace guilt. Now, I don't necessarily think its my fault, I blame it squarely at the door of facebook, and all its pretty colours and features, however its because of this that I've not been on my myspace account for ages, which has left me a tad guilty, although I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that facebook has taken over from myspace as a better social networking site in the last year or so, so it is my mission this weekend to go on my myspace page and see whats what, so there!

This week has also seen the cancellation of the trains on the stratford line, due to maintenance work, lasting from Thursday through to the end of next week, so the good people at London Midland have supplied buses and coaches to take us commuters to work. This would have been a problem if Centro were still in charge as they would have probably resorted to one bus every 2 hours going to one stop if the driver could remember which one, however as we are under a new regime, who have lots of wonga (not sure if I like that word to describe money, hmmm, maybe moula would be less sordid?), they have put in place a system of buses and coaches that go almost to the exact time, if not earlier, than the trains they replace, and by putting loads of staff at train stations and sticking signs everywhere, they have actually become organised, which is quite worrying in a train company really. They'll be running the trains on time soon, the crazy cats!

Anyway, this new journey to and from work has allowed me to see a much different side to the city, and one that I'm even more proud of than I was before, which is going some I have to say. For example, did you know that on the stratford road in Hall Green, just before the junction at South Birmingham College are a couple of great examples of Art Deco architecture, and some of the houses in the area have that style too, which is great.....

..well I was impressed and thats all that matters!

Right then, time for a double...

Are You Jealous Yet
#3 St Kitts

Now, amazingly there isn't anything odd or weird that I could find out about St Kitts, apart from a picture of a dead whale, and no one wants to see that unless you are japanese, but you are more than welcome to google your ass of and find out! But until then, here are some piccies:

Ok I fibbed, here's a picture of a resident green fervet monkey, who I will name Derek!

Ok he looks angry with the name Derek, as he seems to be shouting 'Mike!'.....so we'll stick with Mike then! St Kitts is the hideaway for many a celeb, which will be great for the old blog, as celebs have been a bit on the quiet side for the last couple of months in the city centre, unless you count people who you may have seen get bumped off in an episode of Casualty or Midsomer Murders, in which case I've seen hundreds!
Next!

Are You Jealous Yet?
#4 Antigua

This island has one island for every day of the year, so heres a picture of the first one I found on Google!

Who's SHE? Blimey, I hope she's on the ship!

Now this is a stunning photo of the island, no not this one, this one!

And, not to be outdone by Mike the Monkey, here is the Google answer to Antigua:

Yup, its a caravan, but not just a caravan, a lightweight caravan. I know, crazy eh! Well it was a straight choice between that, an Iron, a Shower unit, a Horse, a Table, a Rug or a settee, so just be grateful!
Ta Ta!
