Strike a pose, there's nothing to it....

Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening to you all, and welcome to another foray into the oddbox that is my life!

We'll start with last weekend and Villa are finally back on track in league form, with a comfortable 4.1 victory over the not-so-mighty Newcastle. If we could turn up for 2 halves of a match, we'd be a frightening prospect for any team, but half a match is better than none at all, so we're happy villians at the moment!

This week has seen the conclusion (hopefully) of the replacement bus service, which means I can actually have a 5 minute lie-in of a morning before catching the train next week (I know, famous last words!). The bus service, I have to say, has been great in the main, apart from the coach driver on Thursday night not realising that when you drive a manual gearbox coach, you should probably not wait 20 seconds inbetween gears before you reach the next gear up or down! Like I said though, on the whole, very impressed by the bus service, and they have many votes from the public if they ever wish to expand into bus travel!

Now, from my ventures into the vast expanse of youtube, I've been very impressed by the videos of the Caribbean, and being a holiday of a lifetime, you kinda want to take as much of the scenery and experience back with you, so after strenuous investigation on t'interweb (being up till 2am 2 nights running), I'd found the ideal one, then found a slightly more expensive version, but available now at Jessops, so I trundled along on Wednesday to get it.

Now, what is it about shop assistants? When you are wandering around, just having a mooch, they can't keep away from you, but when you actually want something, its like a ghost town in there, as was the case in Jessops in Birmingham. After finding a gap where there should be a camera, I waited about 5 minutes until someone came over to see if I needed any help in my gormless staring at nothingness (he didn't say it, but he had that look, you know the one), and after checking on his computer, found that there was one in the shop, and that one was a 'Managers Special' that had been knocked off because an elderly couple couldn't work the buttons on it. It had been sent back to the manufacturers, but mechanically it was perfect, but they couldn't sell it as new, as it....well......wasn't, so I got it for a knockdown price, plus a half price carry case, which was a great deal. I've since ordered various bits'n'bobs for it, so I am looking forward to trying it out this weekend when I go to my cousins wedding in sutton.

Right then, that was the highlight of the week up until today, when we got something interesting through the post.........

.....WE'VE GOT OUR FLIGHT TICKETS FOR BARBADOS, BABY!!!!!!

T'is true, they're all shiny and purdy and everything!!
But enough about that, onto the next 2 islands on the adventure:

Are You Jealous Yet?
#5 Dominica

Ok this next one has a question attached to it, who gets them first, Swamp-Thing or a giant Croc?

My money's on Swamp-Thing, he's a sneaky bugger, that one.

Are You Jealous Yet?
#6 Barbados
Oh yes, one full day in Barbados, right in the middle of our trip!

Now that's a sunset!

Now, a bit of wildlife for you, remember Mike the monkey (who can forget!), well meet Dave the Barbados Blackbelly sheep!
...and his mate Claude (he has that french look in his eye, and look at those eyebrows!)
Finally a small treat for you, especially if you are going to Antigua. I only found this yesterday, and it certainly gives you a 'different' side to the island. Anyone for a Pleasure Cruise?
