Its the Final Countdown!

Greetings one and all, and welcome to yet another enthralling blog, a blog which comes with less than a week to go before my op!

We shall, however, start a safe distance away from my operation date. Last week was, as usual, an odd one, from having very strange, smelly people sit next to me on a train (how can one woman smell of so much parafin?), and being soaked almost constantly all week (how does rain fall perfectly sideways?), to the joys of England finally putting a great performance together for the first time in 2 years!

Work has been its usual dreary self. I now cannot remember the last time I actually used my brain in my job, however with the country seemingly on its financial knees, that situation isn't going to change any time soon. I could be in a worse job, although seeing your career rot before your very eyes every day is not the best feeling in the world, especially when you see new recruits to the fim who look (and probably are) about 10 years younger than you, taking the job that you could do perfectly well, just because they wave their little bit of paper with the word 'degree' in front of HR's eyes!

.....that was an unexpected rant, I feel rather good after that!

But I have far greater things to worry about, and apart from the large amount of discomfort and a fair amount of bloodiness I will experience, it will be worth it for the ten years guarantee I will have (I wonder if I get a certificate, like you get with white goods, or Comet purchases?). I've been through all the probables and maybes regarding the operation before, during and after, and having done all that I feel I am ready for anything.

On saturday we went for a jaunt into cuddly Dudley to find the hospital so we all know where we're going, and after going to the wrong one in stourbridge, we finally found it, fairly close to merry hill, which is great for Mom and my aunt. I probably won't see them most of the week, what with 9pm closing time in merry hill!

Sunday was my birthday....ok actually it wasn't, that comes next Tuesday, but as I'll be all drugged up and lying around (which is what every birthday should be like), I might not get chance to celebrate it properly, so we went into Stratford to have a meal at Ripple, which is a Cantonese/Chinese restaraunt right on the waterfront, which serves some absolutely superb food for a ridiculously good price, and so after being stuffed like a Christmas turkey, we lumbered our way home, my car having done well over 100 miles over the weekend (ok so we may have got lost a 'few' times in Dudley!), but it was well worth it!

One more blog to go, eeeeeeeeeep!
