Time to cross fingers, toes and everything else!
Well folks, its my last blog for at least 10 days, as I will be going into hospital on friday for a lovely bit of reconstructive surgery!
Not much to report, as I only blogged on Monday, other than the fact that a certain Mr Evans has discovered the exact amount he spent in Legs 11, and lets just say I was right!
Monday saw the mighty Villa rip apart a pretty rubbish Spurs team, although the scoreline didn;t really reflect that, and with a UEFA Cup match coming up on Thursday, then a ding-dong derby on Sunday, its a great start to what will be 7 matches in 21 days. Not sure how well us thrashing the baggies will go down in Dudley, lets just hope the surgeon isn't a West Brom fan!
For some inexplicable reason, it actually dawned on me last night as to just what I was getting myself into. I mean, I was fine and dandy with the fact that i would be left with a scar somewhere and I was alright with them taking a skin graft from my face, but it hadn't actually sunk in that they would be removing bits of me and replacing them with other bits! Thats, like, a proper operation and everything!
It came as a bit of a shock to me last night, but after that remarkable revelation, I am ready for it now. I've got an appointment with the anaesthetist tomorrow afternoon (conveniently finishing just before the villa match kicks off at 3.20!), just to talk through what he will be doing on saturday (how long does it take to say 'knock you out'!?), then I'm being admitted on Friday afternoon, probably to be drawn on like they do with those freaks who have plastic surgery, and then Saturday is the big day, a 5 hour operation, followed by alot of pain, discomfort, drug-taking, and a few weeks off work.
Marvellous!
Wish me luck!!
