I can't get that Tic Tac advert out of my head!

..you know, the one where that chap is late for a bus and the Tic Tacs pick him up and carry him onto the bus?... its driving me a tad potty, just like its driving you potty about.....now!

Your welcome!

Anyway on with the blog, and this week saw the triumphant return to my flagging career at work. My return was greeted by most, especially as before I left, the credit crunch was just being talked about as a distant possiblity, rather than the horrific meltdown of the last few weeks. So I was greeted by mountains of work, as those lovely little fraudsters just love a good old financial crisis to get the blood boiling! Somewhat unsurprisingly, my wonderful boss was one of the only few to have no idea that I've been off for the last 7 weeks, although I don't suppose she would care less about anything that happened to anyone below her. Oh well, to celebrate this occasion, I signed up to 4 recruitment firms in one day, so we'll see what comes of that, although i won't hold my breath, as all the adverts out there ask for experience of handling your own cases, which I just don't have.

This week also saw the whole country battered and bruised by high winds and tornado's, which came to Wythall at approximately 11pm on Sunday night. We knew this because the wind was howling so loudly that we thought that we'd end up as the worlds first convertible house, however we avoided any real damage to the house or road, although a car wasn't so lucky about 20 yards from our road, as a tree fell on their car. Luckily, they escaped without any serious injuries. At one point, the weather was so bad that we thought it had opened up the gates of hell, especially when it threw up the dying embers of various extinct bonfires around the neighbourhood!

Brilliantly, I have returned to work just when all the Christmas lights have been turned on, and thank the lord above that the council have invested in actual Christian lights, rather than the ghastly commercial lights, that don't annoy any council member because they may offend anyone from another religion! The whole city looks gorgeous at night, and the entrance of the legendary Frankfurt Christmas Market signifies that Christmas is officially here, hurrah!

Finally, the highlight of the week, if not the year, was when those lovely people from Sky and Virgin Media put down their toys (ironically after a change in management at Virgin Media....funny that..) and decided to kiss and make up, so we poor saps who have got Virgin Media cable finally have the irreplaceable Sky News back. Oh how we've missed you, Sky News, with your presenters who actually know whats going on in the world and who make the news sound interesting, and give us factual information the second you get it, rather than BBC News 24, who are quite frankly, a shambles at everything they do on that channel. If they're not messing up the autocue, or fiddling with bits of paper, they are on the wrong camera or give you the wrong story with the right pictures. And boy oh boy, who decided to hire such odd-looking people at the BBC?

So welcome back Sky News, Sky Sports News and Sky One, and a very warm welcome to come new channels we didn't have before, Sky Two and Sky Three, for all your repeats that you missed in the last 18 months, Sky Arts and Sky Arts 2, for when we feel a bit arty and just wanna kick back and relax, and Sky Real Lives and Real Lives 2, which....may....be about...people? But anyway, welcome one and all!

Right, I'm off to Lader my Hosen, ready for the Christmas Market!
