Thursday, Friday, Happy Days!
Greetings one and all, yes this is a Friday blog. It may be through boredom, but a blog it is so read it at your leisure!
I was going to gush about two wonderful things that occured this week, namely Villa beating MSK Zilina and so qualifying for the latter stages of the UEFA Cup as group winners, and me getting my ticket for the Hamburg game, however as you will no doubt be aware,Villa for some inexplicable reason, put out a weakened team for our most important game of the season so far, and were roundly beaten 2.1, however because the other result in the group went our way, we have now qualified for the last 32 of the competition, but now have to beat Hamburg in order for us to get a slightly easier game in the next round.
The only shining light from the game was a 17 year old striker called Nathan Delfouneso, who made his debut. He scored a cracking goal and was arguable the best player on the pitch all game, however as his name is open to debate on how to say it, its far easier to just call him The Fonz, which is probably why i've been singing the Happy Days theme song all day. Marvellous!
The good news from the night is that I finally have my Hamburg ticket, thank the good lord! So all we need to do is get there, not get killed and get back and we'll be laughing!
I have been fascinated by a meeting that has been taking place over the road from me today. The hotel opposite rents out meeting rooms and usually its the boring kind. You know, the ones where everyone writes things down and looks very seriously at the boss who is probably the most boring man on the planet. However today was different. Today in the meeting room, the conference table has been moved out, and the people in there have been doing various 'activites' with a woman, who at one point was shouting at them, whilst waving her hands around, then later she stood them in a circle and waved a bendy stick at them whilst holding a large tennis ball. I'm sure today has been a really good 'team bonding' exercise, whatever it is that they have learned!
This evenign marks the start of the Christmas festivities for yours truly. I am going for some christmas drinks at the glee club, which is either going to be a great night, filled with laughter and frivolities, or will be a complete disaster, in which case we will just drink more and have a great night filled with laughter and frivolities!
Finally, a look over to the right hand side of the page into the yellbox will show you what happens when someone puts a foot firmly in their mouth!
Have a good weekend!
